Eagle-eyed visitors may have noticed that CION's website looks a tad different nowadays. User-friendly, streamlined, and - dare we say - cleaner?
A recent redesign is responsible for the sleek look, but it's much more than a new coat of paint. Here's everything you need to know about CION's website update in 2023.
Homepage
CION's primary webpage articulates to first-time viewers and frequent users the organization's core goal: to promote, attract, and celebrate the creative industries in Northern Ontario. Scrolling down the homepage reveals our organization's two-pronged approach in achieving our mandate and includes hyperlinks to CION's most accessible resources: the Crew Database, the Hotlist, It Came From the North, and ON Stage.
Continue scrolling through the page and you'll be met with a testimonial gallery, a highlighted article, andĀ CION's latest news releases -- new web features that offer a glimpse of what's happening in the regional film, television, and music sectors.
Film & TV
The reconfiguration of the Film & TV landing page appeals to two key players of CION's audience base: producers and film crew members. Allowing individuals to access the resources and information relevant to their aspirations, we've curated the 'Producer's Guide to Filming in the North' and the 'Film Crew's Guide to Working in the North' -- each containing breakdowns of services and resources available through CION and throughout Northern Ontario for these distinct groups. The pages also include consultation forms that invite you to connect with CION staff to further your film and television production goals.
We've also included a list of our film and television programs so you can find exactly what you're looking for in three clicks or less. Quickly access the Crew Database, the Hotlist, Shot Up Here, MAPPED, 'FAM' Tours, and CION's newly updated Regional Resources and Services catalogue.
Regional Resources and ServicesĀ
To more efficiently connect regional service providers with production companies touring Northern Ontario, CION's Regional Resources and Services catalogue now includes hyperlinks, contact information, and user-friendly categories that allow producers and industry stakeholders to find exactly what and who they are looking for before the cameras roll.
Want to advertise that your Northern Ontario business supports the film and television production industry? Complete the intake form on the Regional Resources and Services page to let us know -- we'll add you to the catalogue in 1-2 business days!
Music
CION's Music page redesign puts front and center the supports offered by our Music Sector Development Officer to the emerging and established musical talent in the North. Scroll through the page to quickly sign up for a free consultation and access a growing list of resources (like funding, rights management, and other music industry organizations).
Another addition to the homepage is an open invitation to ON Stage -- an evolving music forum board for musicians to promote their craft and connect with likeminded creatives who work and play in Northern Ontario. This platform also includes daily updates on upcoming information sessions, professional development activities, and funding deadlines that can transform your career in music.
