Impact of COVID-19 on Northern Ontario's Cultural Industries

In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic CION wanted to understand the impact this unprecedented crisis was having on the film, television and music industries in Northern Ontario.
CION produced two surveys, one for the film and television sector, and another for the music sector.
The surveys were solicited through CIONs newsletter subscription list (approximately 1700 emails) and shared using CION’s social media channels.
The surveys were active from March 26th to March 31st. The Film & TV Survey received 222 responses. The Music Survey received 43 responses.
CION has produced a guide for existing and announced resources for workers and organizations affected, which you can access below. In the coming weeks, CION will release an expanded FAQ with some insights into the future of the industry gathered from our broad base of sources and contacts throughout the creative industries in North America.
