ABOUT

Justine Giles is an adult pop singer-songwriter based in Toronto and originally from Sudbury, Ontario, with musical influences ranging from Sarah McLachlan, Sara Bareilles to Jewel. Her single “I’m Done”, (July 2017), featured by CBC Radio One, was recorded and produced by Bill Bell (Tom Cochrane, Jason Mraz). “This song serves as an empowering anthem for all.” Giles expresses. “It’s about saying goodbye and fully letting go of what no longer serves one’s health and happiness. It’s an anthem to stand up against multiple forms of abuse and taking a strong stand for self.” In the spring of 2017, Giles placed first in the regional round (Northern Ontario) and Top-25 nationally in CBC’s Searchlight competition on the strength of her single, “Unspoken”. Andrew King from Canadian Musician had this to say about the track, “I love the depth of the lyrics here — that she can frame a ‘typical’ love song in such a way that it’s engaging even after repeat listens and never comes off as forced or hokey or cliched.” Giles’ soulful voice was first introduced to the world in 2014 via her debut indie album Shine. “It’s a refreshing sound in a day where many songs sound similar.” according to Linda Heldman, Canadian Beats. “She leans towards vintage in many areas of her life and is not swayed by current trends. She writes from the heart and keeps true to herself by doing so.” She has performed at music industry showcases, including Jazz Sudbury’s Emerging Artist Showcase (2017), toured Northern Ontario and Simcoe County (Fall & Winter 2016), and at multiple events in Montreal and Vancouver (Fall 2014 - Spring 2016) with RAW: natural born artists, an independent international arts organization. Giles is also actively supported by Canada’s Music Incubator, an organization which provides ongoing mentorship to artist entrepreneurs.
