Our Communities in Film
The rise of Northern Ontario’s film and television production industry over the last decade has put our region on the map – more and more people are recognizing their communities in the movies and TV shows they watch on their favourite streaming services. The feeling audiences experience when they see a familiar landscape or building on screen is powerful. Through a combination of excitement, belonging, and curiosity, watching the ordinary become spectacular on the big screen brings pride to our communities.
The contributions of local talent are instrumental in making this happen. Getting a project off paper and into reality is a process that requires all hands-on deck. As a result of their expertise, drive, and creativity, Northern film crews achieve rewarding careers while playing a key role in the promotion of Northern Ontario’s economy, workforce, and visibility.
