ABOUT

Tmell is a 23-year-old artist born and raised in Sudbury. What started as a random creative spark in 2019 quickly grew into something much bigger than he ever imagined. Tmell began making music in mid-2019 and quickly found a team to build with, including producer Young Curdd and fellow new artist, now frequent collaborator, KingTin. Recording bedroom songs on Audacity soon became the norm. In January 2020, he released his first official single, marking the beginning of a consistent run of music throughout the year alongside KingTin. Later in 2020, TJ Lemire joined the circle, and the group of four continued creating and releasing music across all platforms. During this era, their sound blended hard-hitting rap with pop influences. Songs like “Goat” with KingTin reached over 40,000 streams before eventually being removed from platforms. The group became known for energetic trap beats paired with melodic and rap-focused vocals. In 2021, Tmell and KingTin continued evolving creatively, leaning further into melodic pop and rap-inspired sounds. By this point, Tmell, KingTin, and TJ Lemire were regularly releasing singles, many produced by Young Curdd. One standout release from this period was “Saint Laurent,” a melodic rap track that showcased Tmell’s growing versatility as an artist. The year became a mix of aggressive rap records, melodic tracks, and pop-inspired releases. 2022 became a quiet year in the Tmellaverse. While Young Curdd and TJ Lemire continued working, Tmell stepped back from releasing music to focus on refining his sound. Instead of dropping songs, he spent the year learning, experimenting, and developing a more melodic pop-rap style rather than focusing solely on trap-inspired rap. KingTin was also quietly working on his own sound, resulting in neither artist releasing any music throughout the entire year. By January 2023, it was time for a comeback. After a year of experimenting and finding the direction that fit him best, Tmell prepared to release “In My Zone,” officially announced on Instagram (@Tmell) in December 2022. The snippets received an overwhelmingly positive response, and anticipation quickly began building. When “In My Zone” released on February 17, 2023, it immediately gained traction and pushed Tmell’s music further than ever before. The song spread heavily across social media and introduced him to a much larger audience. With a growing fanbase and a refreshed sound, Tmell made the decision to remove nearly all of his older music from streaming platforms, leaving only one 2021 release available. As “In My Zone” continued gaining momentum, he followed it up with “Givin’ Me Three” on April 14, 2023, while KingTin simultaneously released “Mistakes & Memories.” Both songs became major staples in their careers. “Givin’ Me Three” quickly surpassed “In My Zone” in popularity and continued growing well into 2026. Tmell kept the momentum alive with additional releases including “Different” featuring TJ Lemire and “Ride This Wave” with KingTin, two very different songs that each showcased his versatility and melodic style. In 2024, releases became less frequent, but the quality continued to rise. While “Givin’ Me Three” and “In My Zone” remained fan favorites, another standout track arrived early in the year: “Okay, Woah,” featuring fellow local artists Ajayy and Sensei Nye. The hard-hitting melodic rap anthem quickly became another fan favorite and was supported by a music video release. Even years later, it remains one of Tmell’s most popular songs. Despite the strong start to 2024, Tmell focused more on improving his craft and building music behind the scenes rather than constantly releasing. His final release of the year came on June 21, 2024, with “Automatic,” a catchy pop-rap single that revisited the melodic pop influences heard in his earlier work. The song became another fan favorite and helped close out the year on a strong note. After building a large catalog of unreleased music, Tmell entered 2025 with plans for consistent monthly releases. Following a six-month break, he returned with “Blissland” featuring KingTin on January 24, 2025. The rollout included heavy promotion across social media, building major anticipation before release. “Blissland” quickly became their biggest song to date thanks to its catchy pop-rap sound and memorable hook. The success of the track set the tone for an extremely active year filled with monthly drops including “Location,” “Divine,” “RMB,” “Basement Studios,” “Ain’t Gon Lie,” “Friends,” “What’s The Rush,” and “Denial.” With growing momentum and constant buzz surrounding their names, Tmell and KingTin decided it was finally time to perform live. On July 5, 2025, after nearly six years of making music, they hosted their first-ever show at Sonia’s Patio in Sturgeon Falls. The event was a major success, drawing around 120 attendees, most of whom traveled from Sudbury to support them. The venue was packed with energy as fans sang along to both released and unreleased songs previewed online. 2025 became their biggest year yet, with a total of nine singles released. Now in 2026, Tmell and KingTin have hinted that releases may become less frequent again, similar to 2024, with a stronger focus on quality over quantity. After a nine-month break following Tmell’s last 2025 release, he returned with “Decisions” featuring KingTin, which instantly became their most successful and well-received song to date. Months before release, Tmell described it as “the 2026 version of Blissland, but better” and fans quickly agreed. With more music already lined up, including “Automatic 2.0” releasing June 12, the next chapter of the journey is only getting started.
