ABOUT

Melanie Gail St-Pierre is the lead vocalist and songwriter of critically acclaimed indie rock band Casper Skulls from Toronto and Sudbury. Known for their studied sound and supercharged live performances, Casper Skulls released their sophomore album Knows No Kindness in November of 2021 which was hailed by the likes of Flood Magazine, A.V. Club, SPIN, Rolling Stone Germany, and Americana UK to name a few. After touring extensively in the United States and Canada sharing stages with Thurston Moore, Land of Talk, PUP, Hop Along, Kathleen Hannah, and Charly Bliss, they were nominated for the SOCAN Song writing Prize for their 2017 single "Lingua Franca." In 2019, Melanie St-Pierre unveiled her new solo recording project under the name l'loop and shared her first track titled "Valleys” which features raw, looping instrumentation that meditatively builds into a haunting, folksy atmosphere and landed her an opening slot for Snail Mail, Lomelda and a handful of other shows since. Largely driven by St-Pierre's ethereal vocal delivery and noodling guitar. She intends to build on this project in the next year and collaborate with peers to release her debut for this project.
