ABOUT

They’ve been described as “…that band from Almost Famous” and referred to as “the denim disasters” but through thick and thin north Ontario folk-rockers Greenbank have always been anything but boring. With their rag-tag band in tow, songwriters Jimmy Breslin and Craig Smyth have been winning over audiences across the country with their unique brand of down-home, harmony infused, old school folk-rock since their start in 2013. The band’s first album Money Machine (2015), a sarcastic observation of societies destructive obsession with profits hit the number one spot on Thunder Bay radio station CILU 102.1’s top 20 list and stayed there for five weeks following its release. The co-headlined Money Machine release tour with Nick Sherman included 35 performances across Canada with notable stops at the Pan Am Games, Ottawa Blues Festival, Live From the Rock Folk Festival and the Harmony of Nations Festival. The first single ‘Live Off The Land’ has been played nationally on CBC Radio 1. “Sharp harmonies, great lyrics, and enough energy to power a medium-sized town like Kansas City.” -Elmore Magazine (New York) “I found myself singing along almost immediately” -Canadian Beats (Ottawa) “With great influences, great songs and a great passion for music, it’s easy to see why so many people have fallen in love with The Greenbank.” -Fresh Print Magazine (Toronto)
