Aurel was born into a multicultural family and has always written songs in Spanish, French, and English. Her artistic journey is closely tied to her search for identity as a Mexican and Franco-Ontarian. In 2022, she was accepted as an artist-in-residence at La Slague to launch a brand-new project: “Soundscape sudburois,” with the goal of carving out a place for herself in the Franco-Canadian music scene. The project launched in 2023 with a debut EP, “Soundscape sudburois: été,” followed by its counterpart, “Soundscape sudburois: hiver,” in 2025. --- Aurel est née dans une famille multiculturelle et a toujours écrit des chansons en espagnol, en français et en anglais. Son cheminement artistique est étroitement lié à sa quête identitaire en tant que Mexicaine et Franco-Ontarienne. En 2022, elle est acceptée comme artiste en résidence à La Slague en 2022 afin d’amorcer un tout nouveau projet : « Soundscape sudburois » afin de se tailler une place dans la scène musicale franco-canadienne. Le projet voit le jour en 2023 avec un premier EP “Soundscape sudburois: été”, suivi par la contrepartie “Soundscape sudburois: hiver” en 2025.
