Folk, blues, and roots singer songwriter Arley Hughes has been captivating Canadian and American audiences with her incredible vocal chops that encompass the deepest velvet textures to the sweetest vocal tones. Hughes has been a front woman for many Northwestern Ontario Blues and Jazz bands and has decided to go solo to push her musical edges. In June of 2017 Hughes won the solo/duo devision for the Thunder Bay Blues Society's International Blues Competition in Thunder Bay Ontario, and performed as a quarterfinalist in the 2018 34th annual International Blues Competition in Memphis Tennessee. On July 6th 2018 she will be the opening act for the Thunder Bay Blues Festival. Hughes is no stranger to playing large festival stages and has been a steadfast champion of the Thunder Bay music scene. Hughes Debut Album "Parts of Me" was released in May of 2017 to rave reviews and unwavering community support. She is currently finishing the writing of her sophomore Album, that is a collection of 10 original blues songs, and now a third album that is focused on a return to her folk roots. Hughes covers a diverse amount of feeling and simmering musicianship as she allows herself to dive deep into her writing with vulnerability, heartbreak, grit and grace. Her powerhouse vocals will leave you begging for more as she weaves her music through your soul and deep into your heart. Hughes has a spectacular ability to hold an audience in the palm of her hand, with her plucky Canadian charm, and off the cuff humor.
