NOMFA Nominees and Winners

MFM was thrilled to bring Northern Ontario’s talent together for the 2015 Northern Ontario Music & Film Awards (NOMFA) and conference, a three day event that acknowledged our region’s very best. On Saturday, May 30 at 8pm, audience members, artists and industry representatives gathered at the Sudbury Theatre Centre to celebrate and recognize the very best that Northern Ontario has to offer in music and film. The winning nominees were announced to the crowd by several surprise guest presenters including:

Executive Producer Roma Roth, The Trews Guitarist John-Angus Macdonald, Producer Mark Montefiore, Actors Michelle Mylett & Nathan Dales, Writer Jude Klassen, CTV’s Marina Moore, Multi-talented Stef Paquette, MFM’s Mark Palumbo, McLelland Crawford & Topp’s Cameron Crawford & Danica Pagnutti of Vale.

The festivities continued later into the night with the official after-party at Fuse Nightclub in downtown Sudbury! Popular local bands  &  loudly kicked off the night for 5-time Juno nominated rock veterans, The Trews who continued to treat the audience to a signature Canadian rock experience.

Leading up to the after-party, the NOMFA Conference offered three days of innovative programming. From the Canadian Songwriter Challenge to the diverse music and film panel discussions, all of the week’s initiatives shared the goal of facilitating growth in the music, film, and television industries in Northern Ontario. Endless networking and idea sharing opportunities with individuals who share a united passion for music & film were made possible during the week through various film screenings, live music showcases & workshops.
