Northern Ontario Music & Film Awards 2017 (Sudbury)

MFM is thrilled to present a number of music showcase opportunities at this year's Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards (NOMFA) conference in Sudbury, May 25-27, 2017.
Individuals and groups chosen to perform a music showcase at NOMFA 2017 will receive a modest honorarium in addition to free accreditation to the NOMFA conference, including access to panels, workshops, exclusive industry networking events and the NOMFA ceremony on May 27. All submissions will be reviewed by an industry panel and selected artists will be notified by May 3.
MFM Showcase at Folk Music Ontario 2016 (Ottawa)

MFM was thrilled to present three showcases at the 2016 edition of Folk Music Ontario (FMO) conference in Ottawa. MFM acknowledges the financial support of the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), FedNor, the City of Greater Sudbury, FACTOR, the Government of Canada and of Canada’s Private Radio Broadcasters.

Northern Ontario Showcase at Folk Music Ontario (Toronto)

MFM will be presenting a showcase of emerging Northern talent at this year's Folk Music Ontario conference. Applicants will be chosen based on criteria outlined in the guidelines above, as well as genre suitability for the event.
This showcase is completely acoustic.
Deadline to apply: 5PM on September 4, 2014.
Northern Ontario Music Showcase at Cinefest Sudbury + Mentorship with Simon Walker (Sudbury)

MFM presented a showcase of emerging Northern talent at this year's Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival. Headlining this showcase was Toronto's The Wooden Sky. Applicants will be chosen based on criteria outlined in the guidelines above, as well as genre suitability for the event.
Additionally, MFM has partnered with the Canadian Independent Recording Artists’ Association (CIRAA) to offer one Northern Ontario artist or act the opportunity to be mentored by Simon Walker from The Wooden Sky.
