Industry Programming Assistant

Under the guidance and supervision of the Associate Managing Director, the Industry Programming Assistant will play a key role in the development of industry programming for 2018 and will significantly contribute to CION and Music and Film in Motion’s (MFM) efforts to inspire and educate local and visiting students, industry members and public attendees. They will assist in the creation and dissemination of promotional materials relating to music and film industry activities including but not limited to workshops, forums, panels and showcases.


Duties include:

-Developing and editing communications materials that relate to industry activities;

-Working with educational institutions to generate interest for educational programming (panels, workshops, etc.);

-Act as a liaison between industry workers, film students, the general public and the partner organizations offering administering educational programming.

-Working with the rest of the MFM staff to increase awareness and accessibility of arts and culture in the North.

-Providing support to MFM partner organizations such as LOL Sudbury Comedy Festival and Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival.

-Other duties as required.


Applicants MUST meet the following criteria:

-Must be a student currently enrolled in secondary, or post-secondary institutions or has recently graduated within the past six months;

-Must be between the ages of 15 and 25 years old on the first day of employment (persons with a disability may be up to 29 years of age);

-Is legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;


This is a seven (7) week contract, beginning July 16, 2018.
